Hello all, Ron again. Angela's recovery is off to a slow start - she had expected it would go easier than it has. The big problem right now seems to be a gas pocket around the main incision area that just won't seem to go away. It's causing a lot of pain, especially while getting up or sitting down. She'll be talking to the Doc about it tomorrow. Hopefully it turns out to be something minor.
Everything else is healing up well, and once she gets on her feet she gets around alright. We should also hear the results of the blood work either tomorrow or Tuesday. When I know more, you'll know more. Until next time, take care!
Ugh. The gas they use to expand the stomach is really painful. Eventually when this gas pocket dislodges itself from the stomach area, it will travel up the body to the shoulder area. OH, the shoulder and back pain will hurt a LOT, but it should go away after a day or two. I hope that it begins the migration pattern soon! It sounds like her doctors are attentive to her, and that's good. I hope she heals well! I'm thinking of her!
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us updated Ron! Angela hang in there. I'm going through the same stuff myself. Every day does get better though. I thought I would breeze through this but its a slow process. Pain meds are a big help. Take advantage.
ReplyDeleteAlso try the over the counter My Lanta chewable tablets for gas. They're stronger than gas-x and they work great. They really help where the gas-x didn't help for me. Plus they taste yummy.
Thank you Ron for taking such great care of her. I sure hope she heals quickly and getsx rested. She does definately need it with the girls coming back, but I am sure them being there makes her happy and will help her heal. Go Ang go!
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my thoughts and prayers girl - I hope things get better - and of course they will get better <3
ReplyDeleteThank you Ron for keeping us posted. I was banded 8/18 and she's been kind enough to leave messages for me. Gas pain totally sucks. I still have it in my left shoulder. I am told it will eventually go away. BTW, you have a good name... my hubby is a "Ron" also! :o)
